Please energy drink and the VOW FM signal relaunch
Please Energy drink’s objective was to introduce themselves at the Wits University target market. Luckily VOW FM was relaunching a signal from 90.5 FM to the current 88.1 FM.
I coordinated a meeting with the representatives of Please energy drink, where I sold an idea of having the station’s logo and the new signal on their cans. Their products were distributed around Wits University.
This campaign ran throughout Wits’ Orientation week. It lived on the ground, on-air, social media and the station’s website.
A competition where listeners where given a list of question to answer, gave listeners a chance to win them selves a box filled with 60 cans of Please energy drinks. Pictures were taken to capture the moment of excitement.
The campaign created demand for the Please products and assisted with the relaunch of the station’s signal.
Platforms used: Social media, on-air, website and mostly on the ground activations.

“The Number One Supporter” competition
This campaign was nominated at the 2015 MTN Radio Awards, for the Promotions Stunt/Event category.
I conceptualized this campaign to open opportunities for individuals who couldn't make it through interviews. This campaign allowed the winner to skip all interviews and become the ambassador for VOW FM. This campaign helped rebuild the love of radio within students and the community. This campaign was driven on Radio, social media and on the ground.
Bellow are six minute clips that will take you through the stages of the competition on-air and how competitors were judged. The on-air interviewees are one of the five finalists.
Platforms:
Social media, website, on the ground activations as well as on-air.
On-air campaign audio.
Social media promotional content.

Achievements
The Killer Joint Battle Of The DJs
As a radio producer for VOW FM, I conceptualised The Killer Joint which is a weekend dance show dedicated to showcasing commercial and tribal house music. The show is targeted at all party people, including new members within the house music community of DJs and producers. One of our biggest projects was to launch an international DJing competition in partnership with the popular South African Celebrity Gossip site, ZAlebs.com. Under the name, Battle of the DJs, the competition has managed to reel in international DJs who also competed and others who were judges, including DJ Dino Bravo as one of its sponsors as well as a judge. The lucky winner scores a full scholarship to DJ Dino Bravo’s DJ academy as well as a slot as a resident DJ on The Killer Joint show and Sync Radio 1 in Chicago.
